Cycle Trip Videos
…and Firm Friends
I’m doing the GDMBR solo, but have to mention cycling videos with my oldest and bestest friends; the usual cycling companions on adventures.
Fifty years ago, four boys met at a new school; coming together from different backgrounds and surviving all the growing and angst that teenage years bring. Over the next five years they became the very best of friends.
Fifty years later, with families and careers built (now slowing down), that bond is stronger than ever. We meet at least twice a year, and there’s always a big cycling adventure on the agenda. Gone are the young boys we were, today we ride in the guise of the Old Dogs cycling club. Not relying on electric assist just yet, but it’s coming!
Over the last few years I’ve been learning more about documenting our adventures and am hoping to do the same with my planned solo GDMBR escapade. I’m planning on taking a small drone, an action camera. and perhaps an autonomous flying camera. Current gear list here.
Here are four of our most recent trips; King Alfred’s Way from 2021, The Cantii Way from 2023, The Purbeck Bimble from 2024, and a frosty/muddy day ride on the Knowl Hill Bridleway loop in 2025.
Hopefully the video production improves each time; the plan is to be up-to-speed by the time I leave for Banff.
