Robin Rides the Divide is a personal project and labour of love; a community resource created to help fellow riders preparing for or riding the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route. It is not a commercial service and no fees are charged for any information provided.

All trail information, resource listings, rider tips, GPS data, and route guidance on this site are provided as-is, for general reference only. They do not constitute professional advice of any kind.

Robin Rides the Divide and its creator accept no responsibility or liability for any loss, injury, damage, or inconvenience arising from the use of information on this site. Your use of any trail information is entirely at your own risk and discretion.

Resource listings (resupply points, lodging, bike shops, water sources, etc.) are maintained on a best-effort basis by the site creator and community contributors. Inclusion of a resource does not constitute an endorsement, and exclusion does not imply unsuitability.

📱 Trail Companion

The GDMBR Trail Companion is a community reference tool, not a navigation device. It should not be used as your sole means of navigation or route-finding. GPS positioning is approximate and depends on your device's capabilities and satellite reception.

Always carry dedicated navigation equipment (maps, compass, GPS device) appropriate for remote backcountry travel. Do not rely on mobile phone coverage or battery life in remote sections of the route.

🏅 Acknowledgements

The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR) was created and is maintained by the Adventure Cycling Association, the premier bicycle travel organisation in North America. Adventure Cycling's meticulous route research, cartography, and ongoing stewardship make the GDMBR possible. The Tour Divide race, which follows the GDMBR corridor, also exists thanks to this foundational work.

This site is an independent community resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the Adventure Cycling Association or any other organisation. All route data, resources, and tools on this site are compiled independently and should be used alongside – not as a substitute for – Adventure Cycling's official maps and guidance.

References to "GDMBR", "Great Divide Mountain Bike Route", and "Tour Divide" are used descriptively to identify the route and event; any trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

🔒 Privacy

What We Collect

When you contribute photos, we store your name, email address, and the content you upload. Photo metadata (including GPS coordinates and camera data) may be extracted and stored to position photos on the route map.

When you use the Trail Companion and enable location services, your GPS position is processed entirely on your device. We do not transmit, store, or have access to your location data.

How We Use It

Contributor contact details are used solely to communicate about your contributions and are never shared with third parties or used for marketing.

Cookies & Analytics

This site may use cookies for essential functionality (such as remembering preferences) and anonymous analytics to understand how the site is used. No advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels are used.

Third-Party Services

The site uses the following external services which have their own privacy policies: map tile providers (OpenStreetMap, OpenTopoMap, Esri) for map display, and standard WordPress hosting infrastructure.
